Our Story
While we serve clients all over the country, Harris Financial has deep roots in Montana. Our founder, Rex Harris, was born and raised in Roundup (near Havre) and grew up in the oil industry. His father’s business became known statewide, hauling oil rig equipment across the state in their familiar bright-red trucks. Rex got his start with another financial firm and moved to Whitefish in 1989. A few years later, he ventured on his own to start the company we know and love today as Harris Financial.
In 2016, Rex’s older son Evan took the reins, and Rex and Evan worked together as co-advisors until Rex’s retirement in 2021. As a 5th-generation Montanan, Evan has built on the values of honesty and good service that our state is known for. The transformation from a solo advisor to a team-based advisor group has allowed Harris Financial to continue serving clients at a high level, and today we work with clients in 20 states, and several overseas! Our favorite clients are the ones with whom we have deep, personal relationships with. We have to earn the trust of our clients and work hard to do so every day.
In 2025, Harris Financial took a big leap forward, teaming up with another great advisor firm to create Evergreen Wealth Partners, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor ("RIA"), registered with the SEC!* We still operate as Harris Financial for our clients, but the move to an RIA has allowed us to simplify our business model, potentially increase investment offerings, work directly with regulators on our compliance oversight, and share best practices with other like-minded advisors.
Over the years, we developed a vision and mission that define what we’re all about. Our vision is to help people do great things with financial comfort and confidence and we pursue this vision by implementing our mission: providing advice and investment management that is accessible, practical, and trustworthy. If these are what you’re looking for, give us a call. We’re excited to meet you, hear your story, and see how we can help.
*Registration does not mean the SEC approves, endorses, or guarantees the advisor's competence.
